The Idea for a library, that would offer the Russian people free access to many of the important books in the world in both English and Russian was conceived by:

Through their generosity and work, an electronic library has been created at the Webserver of the Ministry of Education where any one may download any book by ftp to their computer and read it, make copies of it, and print and share copies with friends and Russian schools.
Electronic texts in this library are in zipped form. To download a book you must click on the title, save zip file on your local disk and unzip file using pkunzip, winzip or similar utilities. After these operations you will have a plain ASCII text on your computer.
